Helping Hands
The St. Anthony’s Triathlon
At Digital Hands, we care about community. It's where we all live, work, and play. Helping others in need is a commitment that makes a difference beyond today.
Our most recent company-wide outreach was to participate in The St. Anthony’s Triathlon, A 1.5K Swim · 40K Bike race · and 10K Run Sunday - on April 27, 2008.
St Anthony's has a long history of community support, and this year they teamed up with the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation (Athletes for a Cure) in 2008. The goal is to give every race participant a chance to race for a great cause in addition to pursuing their own fitness pursuits. This event is a great way to build team spirit outside of our office and we also enjoy the opportunity to spend time with some of our most loyal customers and colleagues. This year we had 4 teams and we were wowed by each other as we set some pretty impressive standards for next year's race!
The Guardian Ad Litem Program:
When a local family that lost their home, all their belongings, and even the family pets to a fire. Every employee at Digital Hands wanted to get involved and scouted for contributions that helped get the grandparents and the four small children in their care back on their feet.
We were deeply moved when we received the following note of thanks from a Staff Advocate for The Guardian Ad Litem Program.
"Please let everyone in your office know what a difference they made for this family and how much it was appreciated. [The grandfather] had gotten to the point where he thought people just didn't care anymore. He said since the fire he looks at the world differently. He has gotten teary on more than one occasion trying to express to me the gratitude he feels toward people he has never even met, but have made a world of difference in his family's life.
